HeyGen vs InVideo: Which Is Better?
ZippyClip Team · 2026-10-29T16:00:00+00:00

In HeyGen vs InVideo, HeyGen is better for an AI-presenter video made from a web page, with voice cloning, translation and a free plan to try. invideo AI is better if you want its AI agent to plan an ad from a product link and generate cinematic footage. We didn't find built-in social posting in either.
Key takeaways
- Both tools can turn a link into a video. HeyGen calls it URL to Video. invideo AI calls it Link to Video and also runs it through its AI agent.
- HeyGen has a free plan on its pricing page: 3 watermarked videos a month, up to 1 minute each. invideo AI's pricing page lists no free plan, but its help center describes a watermarked weekly free allowance.
- HeyGen's strengths are avatars, voice cloning and translation (175+ languages on paid plans). invideo AI's strengths are strategy planning, generative footage and a large stock library.
- Both paid plans run on credits, and neither tool publishes the credit cost of one video made from a link.
- If you want videos made from your website and posted for you on a schedule, a third option, ZippyClip, is covered below.
What is the difference between HeyGen and invideo AI?
HeyGen is built around AI avatars: talking presenters, your own digital twin, voice cloning and translation. invideo AI is built around a prompt-and-agent workflow that writes the plan, then generates footage with AI video models or pulls from stock.
So from the same link, HeyGen gives you a presenter-led video, while invideo AI's agent can plan hooks and shots before generating anything.
HeyGen vs InVideo: how do they compare side by side?
HeyGen has the free plan and the bigger presenter toolkit. invideo AI has agent planning, a large stock library and lower paid entry prices.

Can HeyGen and invideo AI make a video from a link?
Yes, both can. The steps and the style of video are different.
HeyGen URL to Video
- Paste a public URL, such as a blog post, landing page, case study or product page. HeyGen says Shopify and Etsy product links work well.
- Pick a style: template, aspect ratio and tone.
- Review and edit the AI-written script.
- Generate, then edit any scene in the studio.
You get an MP4 in 16:9, 1:1 or 9:16, with an AI presenter, a stock or cloned voice, and your brand kit. Pages behind a login, or built as single-page apps, may need you to paste the script instead.
One caveat. A HeyGen community guide from January 2026 placed URL to Video under "Labs", HeyGen's area for experimental features. That guide now redirects, so we couldn't recheck the location in October 2026. The pricing page doesn't list URL to Video at all.
invideo AI Link to Video
- Choose a workflow, paste your link and describe the video.
- Pick the audience, platform and look.
- Click Generate.
- Edit by typing commands, such as "delete a scene" or "change the voiceover accent", then export.
For product ads, you can also paste a product URL as your first message to invideo's AI agent. It reads the page, drafts the audience, hooks and strategy, then returns a treatment and shot list. It can show an estimated credit breakdown before you commit. It generates footage with models such as Veo, Kling and Seedance 2.0.
invideo is open that this takes work. It recommends uploading your own product photos and brand guidelines, because product pages often lack detail. Its help center adds that, depending on how your site is built, you may need to upload images or type product details yourself. It reports a 15–20 minute one-time setup, then about 2 hours per ad in documented team sessions.
For more tools that do this, see our guide on how to turn a product page into a video ad.
How much do HeyGen and invideo AI cost?
invideo AI's cheapest paid plan costs less: $20 a month versus HeyGen's $29, or $10 versus $24 billed annually. HeyGen is the only one with a free plan on its pricing page. Both use credits, so the plan price doesn't equal unlimited videos.
HeyGen pricing (as of October 2026)
- Free: $0. 3 videos a month, up to 1 minute each, watermarked, 1 voice clone.
- Creator: $29/month, or $24/month billed annually. 600 credits, videos up to 30 minutes, 1080p, no HeyGen branding.
- Pro: from $49/month. 1,000 credits, up to 4K. Higher tiers go up to $4,300/month.
- Business: $149/month plus $20 per extra seat. 1,500 credits, videos up to 60 minutes.
- Enterprise: custom.
Unused credits on monthly plans roll over for one extra month. HeyGen's credit guide lists per-minute costs for avatar videos and its Video Agent, but not for URL to Video.
invideo AI pricing (as of October 2026, per seat)
- Starter: $20/month, or $10/month billed annually. 400 credits. Agent Two Lite only.
- Plus: $60/month, or $30/month billed annually. 2,000 credits. All agent tiers.
- Max: $150/month, or $75/month billed annually. 5,000 credits. All agent tiers.
Credits are spent on generations, not downloads, and unused credits don't roll over. Generated footage adds up fast. For example, Seedance 2.5 at 1080p costs about 96 credits per 5 seconds. invideo doesn't say which agent tier handles links.
Does HeyGen or invideo AI have a free plan?
HeyGen does. invideo AI's answer depends on where you look.
HeyGen's Free plan needs no credit card, and its limits are listed above. Its URL to Video page says Free covers "basic generation with limited render minutes per month".
invideo AI's pricing page lists no free plan. Its help center says the free plan gives 10 minutes of generation and 4 exports per week, with an invideo watermark and stock-media watermarks on every export. That help page is undated, so check before you rely on it.
Which has better avatars and voices?
HeyGen lists the bigger avatar and language toolkit.
- HeyGen: 700+ stock presenters on paid plans, a custom video avatar of you, photo avatars, voice cloning and translation into 175+ languages with lip-sync.
- invideo AI: create an AI twin or avatar from your own presenter image, clone your voice from an uploaded recording, and voiceovers in 50+ languages. invideo doesn't say which plans include avatars or voice cloning.
If a talking presenter is the heart of your video, HeyGen is the better-documented pick.
Can HeyGen or invideo AI post your videos for you?
Not that we found. We didn't find built-in posting to TikTok, Instagram or YouTube on either tool's pricing or feature pages.
HeyGen describes its output as an MP4 "ready for any channel". Its Business plan lists Zapier, Make and n8n integrations, and a Zapier template can upload new HeyGen avatar videos to YouTube. invideo AI's Link to Video flow ends with export and share, and its pricing page lists no scheduling.
So with either tool, you still need a scheduler or a separate step to post. Our guide on auto-posting videos to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube covers your options.
Which one should you choose?
Pick the one that matches the kind of video you want from your link.
Choose HeyGen if:
- You want an AI presenter (or a digital twin of you) explaining your product or page.
- You need the same video in many languages.
- You want to try it free before paying.
Choose invideo AI if:
- You want the AI to suggest hooks, an audience and a shot plan first.
- You want cinematic, AI-generated product footage or lots of stock media.
- You're fine with paying from day one (its pricing page shows no free plan) and watching credits closely.
Skip both if you mainly want short videos posted for you on a schedule.
A third option: ZippyClip
ZippyClip is for people who want videos made from their website and posted on autopilot. HeyGen and invideo AI make the video. ZippyClip also handles the posting.
ZippyClip is made by the team behind this blog.
ZippyClip calls itself "your AI marketer". It's a desktop app for Windows and macOS. Here's how it fits the "video from a link" job:
- Start with your URL. Give it your website, homepage or product page. The AI reads what you offer and turns your products, services and customer problems into video concepts, each with a hook, a story, and AI-generated visuals and dialogue.
- It makes the video. ZippyClip creates the visuals and dialogue, then brings the edit, music and captions together.
- It posts on a schedule. It publishes to YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and X from one screen. You set an interval, such as every 6 hours or daily, and videos are queued and posted. TikTok publishing is a Pro feature.
- It writes the post copy. The AI writes titles, descriptions, hashtags and tags for each platform.
- Your existing videos work too. Drop a clip into a watch folder and it edits and publishes it with your saved prompt.
ZippyClip is free to start, with a watermark and 50 API tokens. Pro removes the watermark.
Pick HeyGen instead if multilingual avatar presenters are what you need, or invideo AI for agent-planned cinematic ads. If you want the full website-to-feed workflow explained, read how to turn your website into marketing videos.
